Kokozón Coffee

OVERVIEW: For Kokozón Coffee it’s all about the heart. Kokoro (心) in Japanese represents heart and soul. Corazón in Spanish represent love. Combined together they create the driving force for Kokozón Coffee! Kokozón Coffee is proud of it’s rich heritage and love of Japanese and Mexican culture. A rare combination between the two produces a unique coffee experience from both the far east and west.

WORK: A personal project in the making, I am proud of the concept and creation of Kokozón Coffee logo and packaging design. I started off with idea of two things that I am passionate about: Japanese and Mexican culture. I love Japanese culture has aesthetics of zen, simplicity and symbolism. Mexican culture aesthetics are vivid, bright and bold patterns. It was a challenge to simply represent both so I chose to incorporate elements of both cultures represented by the koi and bird. I hoped to represent the distinction of the two words combined by allowing each section to be different in color as well as highlighted by each creature.
