San Gabriel Presbyterian Church

OVERVIEW: San Gabriel Presbyterian Church (SGPC) is committed to bringing people to Christ, connecting them with God’s Family, growing them in their faith, and encouraging them to love God and love others as Christ first loved us.

WORK: I had the honor of updating and creating a new brand identity for SPGC. The last time they had updated their logo and image was over 20 years ago. To rethink of a new brand identity required months of research and prep. I started with the concept of the location since that is prominent in their name. Since they live in the city of San Gabriel, I wanted to pay homage to the San Gabriel Mission which coincidentally was located less than a mile away.

The adobe arches are iconic of missions so I was inspired by that and incorporated into the logo. The cross is formed by 4 imperfect arrows representing how we as humans are imperfect beings and we must be pointed to the cross which is Jesus Christ. Font choice was kept to traditional and readable font that would compliment the atmosphere already established in SGPC. In addition, new branding for printed materials, new marketing promotional banners were made with the new logo and identity.

In addition, a brand new website was created by myself using Wordpress platform and customizing a theme to compliment the new brand identity. Every page was made after talking to many committees at the church and asking them what they wanted to showcase online.
